USA To 88 LE, Turbo download?

88 LE, I have the same turbo that you had on your 3SFE engine, before it blow. Airesearch, T3, .42/.48 40 Trim internal Wastegate. You said that this turbo is capable of 10 lbs. I already know that this is a with these engine. Since I'm just planning to do 6 to 7 lbs. How would you go about eliminating the internal Wastegate, and installing an external Wastegate on this specific turbo? I have the same problem you had, but your engine blow before you could change it. I don't want this to happen to me.

In your case, I don't think you can eliminate the internal wastegate since its part of the turbine housing.

I would leave it alone and not hook it up. IE: don't hook up a hose to the nipple on the wastegate actuator.

You need to cap off the nipple on the compressor housing or replace it with a 1/8" NPT plug.

Install the external wastegate on the turbo manifold. It needs to go before the turbo.

The outlet from the wastegate can either be blown off into the air or plumbed into the downpipe.

I was also advice to install the TurboXS Manuel Boost Control like this one. Also, to install a E-manage system. Any comment regarding this recommendation.

You can use a boost controller if you want.

Just make sure that the wastegate has a spring that'll give you less then 6 - 7 psi. Then use the boost controller to crank up the boost till you get to 6 - 7 psi.

Yes.

You need something to tune the fuel and ignition timing.
