Identifying JDM engines and What needs to be changed

I about to purchase a replacement 3SFE for my camry and i need to make sure im getting the one i want.

I want to get a late model 3sfe, hoping for a little more hp and less mileage than an older one.

the question is, how do you identify if it is a late or early model? Im thinking the late models have the square plug boots, while the early have round...is that true?

Also, Im pretty sure the engine is going to come with a distributer and spark plug wires. but later on down the road, i will eventually need to replace the wires...I wont be able to get the square sparkplug boots/wires for the camry, so which can i use? Talismen and DownsouthDX have suggested either camry 5SFE wires and cap or RAV4 wires and cap, will these work?

What seals, belts, misc crap should I replace once i get the motor?
