USA 4AG,22R,OR 20R Hybrid?? Which is best?

I'm planning on buying a '78-'82 Corolla 2dr. I'm trying to find out which motor/tranny combo is best as far as most horsepower gains, parts availability, carb or injection? I hope to make it a daily driver.

this depends on how much money you're willing to spend. i would suggest a 3SGTE swap. you can boost low for daily driving and crank up on the track. i don't how fabrication involved but i'm assuming a lot of custom fab work needed on old corolla. if happen to get a TEXX, try to find a complete 3TGTE, it'll sit perfectly in the engine bay, coz they're already a T type equipped engine.

I know that the 22R is popular in trucks especially, so parts availability isn't a problem. I just wanted to see what other engines were out there before I did anything 22R it is then. carb or injection??
