but are they the same size? could i put ge springs into a fe head? because look at this, its about what im looking for i want to shift at 8,500 http://www.atsracing.net/valve_springs.htm
wraith, should i keep posting or just im you because u ancer all my Q's
There will be no point in revving beyond the rev limiter unless you have some performance camshafts and have work done to the head. Even if you were to rev it on the stock stuff... the engine will make no additional power.

im haveing a super hard time finding a ge head, and for needing more then stiff springs i have a block with:balanced crank arp main studs balanced and shot penned (2 times) rods with arp bolts on them and 8.5.1 ross racing pistons so i know the bottom end can take it. befor i started my build i made my mind up on how high i wanted to rev and how much power i wanted to get, im just geting parts for the head (and a head) togeather now. so if i cant find a ge head i still want to rev to 8.5
AAHHHH finally somebody did their homework, but with the fe head, your power peak probably will happen well before 8.5k, the port to valve angle is just too sharp of a turn. If you put that kind of money into a short block, the head really should be able to flow enough air to feed it at hi rpm, I wouldnt put very much money into the fe head and just do a search for a ge head that with a good set of cams and a little port work will feed it nicely. try car-part.com or just search around, now the ge heads I have are the gen1 head with the huge intake ports and the tvis, I have heard that the later gen heads flow better, but I havent seen one of them yet or dont know how much better they do flow, but i have heard that the shims on top of the buckets tend to come loose at real hi rpms, so u might need a gen 2 or later with under bucket shims
yea there for a turbo, i went out and got a ihi turbo off of a 6.3 (i would post pics but i cant figgur out how ) the head for the cr is a 3sgte, would you happen to know if the 90 gte heads came with under bucket shims?
