ok guys, i am almost fone with my gauge project, i will post pix in a couple days after i finish up my new razo shifter and clean up the car, i just added a TRD body kit too, but here is my question...
I am hooking up an air/fuel gauge and i have 3 wires, black neg. red positive and purple a/f sensor... I tapped into the blue wire coming off of the O2 sensor, right off the header, which i toyota told me would be the air/fuel sensor wire, but i get no reading on my gauge, there is also a white wire and two black ones, i tried to tap into the white and got no results either, so my question is this
1) am i going at the wrong wire splice all together?
2) could the gauge just be messed up, guy i bought it from said it was working before he sent it with 100% good feedback, if this is the case, how can i test that the gauge should work and it is not just me hooking things up wrong?
thanks for any response, i know a narrow band a/f is not accurate, i don't care, i have a vac gauge, volt, oil pressure and oil temp also hooked up which give me better feedback, i just needed this to fill my last pod and i got a good price
thanks for the response,
nate

i will look @ it friday or saturday, but did you tap your ecu wire or direct o2 wire pussies?
I tapped the ecu wire...
ratko originally told me which wire to tap, but then it ended up he told me the wrong one, and I remember having to try another one before I found the right one
if you really can't figure it out, then I'll check early next week to see which wire it is....it's just a hassle to remove the glove box to get to the ecu is all

Hayes manual only shows one wire with pink on it for the entire ECU, a Pink w' black stripe. That's definately the wrong wire. It comes from the bank 1 sensor 2 O2 sensor, but is the HTR wire.
Bank 1 sensor 2 OXS is D26 - Black
Bank 1 sensor 1 OXR is B13 - White
btw I would think that a AAA or AA battery would move the gauge. (as long as the amperage is right)
