Question awd camry w/turbo?????

i know that the camrys came with awd.my buddy has an 89 camry wagon that he is modding.
he was looking through the classifieds and came across a 88 4wd turbo celica.he was thinking to put the powertrain out of the celica into the camry.i told him to just find an awd camry and we will turbo his current engine.what do you guys think?any other suggestions?

we are capable of doing every thing ourselves.

If you can find a gt4 (turbo celica).. buy that! Screw the camry wagon, people would die for the all-trac celica.

The Camry all-trac drivetrain is not very strong, otherwise, using that would be great... If you find a complete Celica all-trac, you should just mod that as its a better platform.

If you are fine with keeping the 2wd drivetrain, you can easily turbo it with certain bolt-on parts from the 3s-gte motor... You can search around to find more information on that option.

The Celica All trac drivetrain will fit, but only with a 4cyl. And I believe it will only match the Gen2. But I'm not 100% on that.

Rather than hack up an all-track, you can probably swap a 3SGTE into it with the stock tranny. The biggest question is, how much power can it take?

Get a Camry All Trac and just swap over the Celica All-Trac Drivetrain(Engine, tranny, driveshaft). It's a direct swap and will make an automatic Sleeper. Should handle the power fine.
