Angry need some help with my 1989 supra

this is my position, i have in line a 1989 toyota supra with a 7mgte motor sitting in it, with a turbo that is pushing about 20lbs of boost into it, plus i can pick it up for $1000, but the downfall it has been sitting for 2 years. The questions that i have are....

-first is this car even worth repairing( because all is in tact, it needs a new body kit, and some paint and some tlc with the engine and she will fly)

-second is there any hidden facts on these cars like hidden rust spots or anything that you actually have to look for, because i am looking for a project and this looks like its the one, but i don't want to go balls deep into something that will take a shit on me in a couple of years.

-Third, the reason why this car is so cheep is because the kid who had it before when to college and bought 3 newer cars and decked them out, so he just wants to get rid of the car. So what i am thinking if it's not worth fixing it up, i will just ripp the engine out of it and junk the car, sell the engine.

-Last but not least is the stock tranny going to hold that engine with i shove about 10-14lbs of boost down, and will the engine take it?

-hit me back as quick as you can... or email me at ftballjockie48@yahoo.com

-thanks

The 7MGTE is a stout motor if you give it some TLC. The only flaw with that motor was the head gaskets were undertorqued from the factory so they have a tendency to let go. But, slap on a new headgasket, gets some nice ARP studs and she'll be good to go.

If it were me, I'd buy it...but then again..I'm a masochist when it comes to cars
