HMMMMMM I have a 3sge that needs a crank and was given a 3sfe short block, the bearing journals measure the same, is it the same casting or is it a weaker cousin to the ge crank?

I'm not sure about the crank, but you can use it in a 3S-GE. 3S-FE/GE/GTE use the same block (3S), but have different internals.

Try asking on celica.net. Celicas came with a 3S-FE and 3S-GE.
