Question 1st gen supercharger - OK?

I have a 3.4L 2002 Tacoma and need to know if a first generation ('98) supercharger will work for my truck. Any advice on the 1st gen supercharger appreciated - any problems with the units? THX

I am as new as you are on the boards. Getting answers looks like just doing your time and staying in the boards. I have a 98 supercharger from TRD which is first generation. Never an issue, though I have only had it on for 5mos. Great investment as long as you hang on to the truck a while. Becaus eyou will put a lot of money into it once you start playin with HP Bottle

I don't know if you have local toyota dealers up there where you are but caling the service department should yield you some honest answers, just don't call during the busy hours of service. Calling TRDUSA also has been helpful for me. Dont take to much of their time because they are used to dealing with retailers of their product, not individual customers calling.

Talking 98 supercharger

Thanks for your message. What year and model Toy did you use it on? Part of my concern is if will work on my 02 Tacoma. I'm off to a Toy dealer this morning to check it out. Good to hear that it's worked good for you.

I was responding more so to the first gen s/c question for ya...I have a 98 camry V6 automatic. Going back to the concern you have, unless your dealership has done a bunch of s/c installs, i would be putting together a quick punch list for the folks at TRDUSA. They would be able to alleviate any questions or concerns you have. Check out the 1/4 database at the top of the TN page in the red bar acrossed the page. There is a guy there who has been through a lot of upgrades on his toyota truck. Good luck and Have Fun~

I would ask gadget. He has a fairly comprehensive site for the 3.4L.

Also check out the TTORA forum. There are alot of guys there with S/Cs on thir rides, along with anything else you can do to a Taco.
