European Union Ideas for increase horsepower...

Hello, I have a Avensis with a 2.0 L engine and 116 HP.
Itīs a Diesel D4-D, and I can buy a chip set to increase 40-50 horsepower more, but I donīt know if this change will be dangerous for the engine...
Can I change other parts of the engine better for more power?
Thanks.

What type of chip, and how expensive is it? If it is one of those fake ones on ebay, it won't do shit for your car. If it were to gain you 40-50HP, which I don't think any chip could do on that small of an engine, would be great. The only way you're going to be able to make 40+ hp is to go Forced Induction of Nitrous.

they do make the diesel truck ones i don't know what they make for cars. you can do turbo or propane kit. do alot of research on both of them before doing them.

First off do not use NOS on a diesel. If you want more power from a diesel a good way to go is turbo. Diesels love turbos. Since diesels use compression for combustion the added heat and pressure from a turbo is just what the doctor ordered. Another option is propane injection. The systems are fairly simple consisting of a propane tank that is plumbed into your intake. Chips are also an option. If you are getting a chip contact the manufacturer and see if they have a chip that will support either propane, a turbo, or both.
