Angry Somethings WRONG!!!

Greetings!
I own a 2005 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 4X4 (I have a small child, hence the base model and not the leather). I am not very mechanically inclined but do know a few basic preventitive maintenance tasks, or so I think. I changed the oil and oil filter last night. I used 10W 30 (instead of 5W 30 as it says on the oil cap). When I removed the oil filter there was a funny little piece sitting in the cup where the oil filter sits which I could not figure for the life of me EXACTLY where it came from. So I did NOT put it back on. Now, I used a FRAM replacement filter instead of a Toyota oil filter. So, to recap, I used 10W 30 instead of 5W 30. And I used a FRAM replacement oil filter instead of a Toyota oil filter. Here is the kicker....The car will sluggishly respond to inputs on the accelerator and, at every speed, the engine will rev up a bit without extra input on the accelerator. And, when I come to a complete stop, the car will sometimes stop with a "c l u n k". The car has a little over 5050 miles on it and I am the origional owner (obviously). What the heck did I do to it?

The only 2 parts it could have been (that would be under your control) would one of the oil filters rubber gaskets or the gasket/seal from the drain plug.

The oil you used is fine, get OEM filters only $3.99 from the right place.

Did you by chance save the part ? Maybe you could describe ? And yes, Warranty !! The only other thing to check would be if you somehow knocked a wire off of a sensor or such.

Gotcha! Thanks fredk.

To craigW: The part in question is a small metal piece. About twice the size of a pencil eraser with a small matal arm out the middle of it.
