there is really no essential gauges really. I think most people run boost gauge, a/f ratio/ oil pressure maybe? i'm not a big fan of gauges. 1 important one is if your running an auto is the tranny temp i think.
important ones to have are exhaust temp, oil pressure, oil temp, boost, air/fuel is really only if you have a seperate o2 with a wide band gauge. that means your running a pretty serious setup in order to make things really accurate.

Well, regarding the Gear box temp, it has a cooler which keeps the engine and gear box running cool. But the important part is that the gauges can literally make your car talk to you and let you know what is going on once you start to hammer it. But hay, I’ll take you advice. Thanks man. Boost gauge it is.

I guess in your opinion, it's best to have them all. Cool
1) wideband A/F
2) fuel pressure
3) boost
(boost is last because it doesn't matter... If the wideband is reading OK the boost itself is fine)
Once the car is running and tuned (if you're *never* going to touch it)
1) oil pressure
2) fuel pressure
3) wideband A/F
Boost is like everything else... Once it's tuned and you're never ever going to touch it, it's a useless gauge taking up real estate. (Unless of course you got suckered into buying a bad turbo, where it'd be useful to know if it's about to go bad LoL)
