Electric supercharger?

I was told the other day that you can get a manually operated electric supercharger out of the states. Has anyone heard of this and where you can get it? What is you advice?

I dont know if your thinking about the same thing that Im thinking about? I think that you talking about that pile vortex thing that you put in your intake. I was told that this is the same as a regular supercharger that is activated with a magnetic clutch(like an a/c compressor) with a switch tat the driver pushes.

A clutch driven supercharger? That sounds like the SC12 and SC14 built by our very own Toyota!

They came on the 4A-GZE and 1GGZE (or was it 2GGZE?)

Anyway the Toyota ones were controlled by the ECU, but you can wire em up to a switch if needed.

uh, it wouldnt be an electric supercharger then would it If its driven off the belt, regarless of how its activated... it aint electric...

Anyways, Ive read about people putting high flow electric fans in their air boxes and wiring them to a potentiometer so they can control the speed... sounds kinda hoeky to me though....

electric turbos function a bit different the electric fan is used to make the turbo spool up faster then from there the turbo takes over the electric charger that is being mentioned is just a big fan in your intake that is supposed to shove 1psi of cold air into your system this would work per say but technically it only works in WOT in normal driving u wouldnt want it on anyways... it will eat up ur gas so fast and power increase in those situations are not worth it why not just save up for a real charger and charge up ur ride!!!

humpty
