Yes! My old car, a nissan stanza had ruined tint in the back so bad people thought my rear windshield was broken. heres what you do. on a real hot day take a razor blade scrapper, you can get one at any hardware store and just scrape it off, you wont scratch the glass. if this doesnt work as well, use a hair dyer to melt the glue a bit, but the sun and heat should do it.
I helped my friend remove the tints off his 91 Civic Si when he bought it, I used a razor just like Dark said but insted of a hair driyer I used nail polish remover and cotton balls from a convience store. After peeling the tints off, I would soak up the cotton ball with nail polish remover and wipe it on the glass, that would make the glue nice and soft and easier to shave off.
It's a nasty process because when the glue comes out it's going to stick everywhere. Make sure you don't spill the nail polish remover because it works exactly like bleach, it will ruin your seats/carpet.
Good luck

hey brent, i hear a good way is on the morning of a hot day, soak the window/tint in amonia or windex...spray it on heavily. then while still wet, seal the window off with a black garbage bag. (so on the same side of the window you just sprayed, put a balck garbage bag over it but not so its air tight, and tape off the ends) then on the outside part of the window, put another black garbage bag and tape it off. let it sit for the day. what should happen is that the heat will cause the amonia to condense between the bag and the window, thus lifting the tint off. the outter garbage bag is needed to attract the heat. then you just scrape and peel.
i've been meaning to do this mysleft, just been too damn lazy.
Yes you would for sure. You would scrape off the plastic coating, exposing the wires. I am going to try nicks idea this weekend. (if the weather is right) I will let you know how it works.

Yeah anything with amonia should take tint off, or try using methly hydrate i used it to take the stickers off the back of my car and it seems pretty strong

I went to a tint shop to get mine redone and he said it would be 50$ to remove it. So instead I used ammonia / viniger solution and soaked the hell out of the glue. I put down towels to catch the runoff and scraped the glue off with a razor blade. I used 1 blades a window since they dull but not on the back. The back I just soaked and used a old towel to rub the glue off, which is a pain but it took 2 hours and saved me $50.
