Kewl, you finally got it installed.

Been awhile since you asked how to hook it up.

22r ignition upgrade

The black lead on the ignitor = tach signal & coil negative. I used the black (tach signal & coil negative) and brown wires (ignition & coil positive) on the ignitor for my MSD.

Did you need to use a tach adapter?

My Mallory setup wasn't great at all. The Hyfire will only work for 30 min and then it'll overheat and shutoff. I've to rewire back to stock twice on the street to keep the car running. I exchanged 4 box before I finially switch to MSD. Mallory tech wasn't helping also. It does looks like all I need was a tach adaptor to get it to work. I like the Hyfire with timing advance/retard too bad it didn't work.

Wink MALLORY TACH ADAPTOR for MALLORY IGNITION

There was no TACH ADAPTOR REQUIRED for my ignition upgrade(HYFIRE1A,PRomaster Coil).I do not have a Tach on my vehicle. Is a TACH ADAPTOR something that is required only when vehicle has a stock Tachometer?I wired REd to the WHITE ignitor wire, and the GREEN to the BLACK wire.I crimped a male spade onthe ends of the MALLORY wires and they just fit snugly in the original ignitor female end.I didnt have to splice into the Ignitor wires at all.I jus wrapped them with electrical tape, and if i ever need to switch back to stock on the street,i only need to pull out the male ends and reattach the ignitor in about 15 seconds, and use my original coil which is stil in place.Great backup! Thanks again!

I'm not sure.

I e-mailed MSD tech support before I bought my MSD stuff. They said I needed a tach adapter (MSD 8910-EIS) for my Camry.

This is what the instructions say:

Tach/fuel injection adapter
PN 8910-EIS

The PN 8910-EIS (Electronic Ignition System) will interpret the trigger signal into a signal the factory fuel injection and tachometer will recognize when an MSD Ignition is installed. This adapter is designed for current limiting ignition systems (no ballast resistor).

^ Your car has DIS (distributorless ignition system).

Did you ask MSD about their DIS boxes?

I think HKS makes something that'll work with your car, but its expensive.

Or try: http://www.ignitionsolutions.com
