I have an 88 Celica GTS and it was built with an automatic and a 3sge, I am going to build a turbomotor and was thinking to get a 5 speed for it since the 140 wasnt strong enough, now I understand that the 540 auto out of a v6 camry is strong enough for my moderate turbo boost. I have access to the camry and was wondering if someone has done this or knows what I will need to do?

anything is possible with the know-how and money. there is a celica somewhere with a v-6 and manual, I don't have any idea where I saw the link, but, with the 3sge, why not just turbo it, they made a 3sgte, wich would be a lot simpler and plenty of power, no?

i am going to turbo it, but the auto that came with it i am sure isnt strong enough, i am just trying to see if it would be a big hassle putting a 540e from a v6 camry into it
