easy =) The service manual for your car will have a section on how to pull the DTC's (diagnostic trouble codes) from the ECM. Usually involves a jumper cable on the diagnostic interface connector.

The ECM then displays the code by flashing the check engine light, or on MKIII Supras, it uses the clock.

Depends on the car =)

that works for OBD-I.... not OBD-II
