Engine Swap/Instrument Cluster Question

So I'm planning on getting a 1MZ Coupe soon, then I'm planning (as a temp setup) to yank that block out and replace it with a newer (non-vvti) 1MZ and E153 manual from a 97-02 CE V6 Camry to go along with the TRD S/C. I'll also switch ECUs to the newer one as well.

As far as the instrument cluster goes, will the 97+ ECU report the correct signals to the 92-96 instrument cluster, which is all analog (97+ is analog tach/speedo but digital on mileage). If not, how would I get the 97+ instrument panel adapted to a 92-96?

why not keep the one you got now? i dont know how but if you know electronics you could make it work but then you will have to do some work to your dash to make it fit and look good so i would leave it alone. and if you wont less milage on the dial go to the junk yard and pick up a new cluster

there should be no problems swapping the new ecu in, and the swap should be basically a direct drop-in, with some adjustment to the intake (as I was told by my mechanic before) and that's it...

but for the s/c, just remember that the problem with using it on a gen 3 was not its compatability with the gen3 1mzs themselves, but it was more of a fitment issue

good luck and keep us posted on this
