1994 toyota pick up engine swap options

Well our truck we perchased 4 months ago started puttin out white smoke out of the exhaust. I got the head off head gasket was fine then i started looking at the head and it appears that its not even proper head for the intake on the 1994 picku. The intake dont mount to it proper there are large gaps that where covered with gasket extra bolt holes that where also covered with gasket. Looks like they used a crap load of a sealer to make them seal up. i cant evern get the intake off the damn head. They forced it on there quite well. ill need new a new head for it for sure
i havnt seen if its worped or not yet but the block checks out fine and with the old head gasket been in as good condition as it was i sure its the head.
my question is

what engines could i swap in there

It has the 22re and its the 4x4 model will a 3s-gte go in? my block is still good could i just use the heads from the 3s-gte
I really would like to turbo this truck thats why im askin about the 3s-gte motors
:x

A S series head will not fit on a R series engine, period. However, the 3S swap has been done before. Go to toysport.com to check it out.

Also consider a T series swap. They are truck motors to start with, so the mounts may be a little easier. T series engines are absolutly bulletproof... possibly the strongest motors toyota makes aside from the 2JZ inline 6.

Cheers,

Aaron
