I have a 1996 Tercel - one day all of the sudden the radio went out. Later I realized the interior overhead light was out and there is no beep to warn me that I have left the lights on or that I haven't put my seatbelt on yet. I am completely ignorant about cars as I haven't owned one in years (I travel a lot)! I changed the fuse labeled radio/cig lighter but nothing is different. Any suggestions? TIA!

I would start by checking all the fuses.

Driver side kick panel and/or dash. And the fuse box under the hood (its usually on the side of the car behind the battery).
