Old 3sfe ECU incompatible with new 3sfe?

Well basically I swapped in the JDM 140hp 3sfe in place of my old 115hp 3sfe. The closest thing we have here is the 3sfe in the RAV4 but it's detuned.

I am using the old 5 speed 3sfe ECU and while the engine seems to work fine, there is a severe lag before 2500rpm that I didn't experience with the old engine and same ECU. It basically makes the car unlaunchable cuz it makes absolutely NO POWER there. I also noice it is lacking up top. The old engine pulled hard(well as hard as a slow ass camry will) to over 110mph always runnin into the governor at like 111 or so. This one stops accelerating as soon as I hit 5th right at 100 basically. But the new setup has at least 30more hp. I figure it has to be ECU related. What do you guys think I should do to fix this problem. I am thinking of switching to the rav4 manual ecu and also running acouple piggyback items like a SAFC and ITC to get the air/fuel and ignition timing maximized and reach the potenital of this engine. I already did a full tuneup and it runs really smooth but it just has hese dead spots in the powerband that I know should not be there. Any suggestions from anyone else?

Cool

volt meter the VF signal to see if it's running lean / rich.
Then volt meter the o2 sensor. It oughta read 780-830mv a split second after you hit the gas, and shouldn't drop to 750mv.

When you swapped the engine, did you keep the stock air meter? You should have if you didn't!

Did JDM engine come with knock sensor? Look up spec on the JDM engine like ignition timing, Octane require (most likely need 91), compression ratio etc.

I am thinking I am just gonna use an Apexi SAFC 2 and maybe a Apexi ITC to control the fuel and timing and maximize the engines potential. Plus i will be nice to have it dyno tuned and a baseline for what the car is making before I open the engine up.
