Rubbing Sound on Turns

On my 1990 SX Celica (5SFE) I'm getting a rubbing sound coming from the LH front wheel when i turn, the noise is there in forward and reverse , but only when at full or near full lock. I got someone to drive my car around in circles so i could listen and the sound occurs at the same point every time in the wheels rotation. As i said, it does this in forward and reverse and also with a different wheel installed. There are no signs of physical rubbing around the area.

My guess would be that it is the LH outer CV, although the CV boot is intact and the whole thing has australian stickers on it showing that it is not the original toyota one, it looks in pretty good condition externally too.

Heres the strange thing, after trying to figure out what the problem is for a couple of days, the noise totally stopped for a while. Now it has returned. Any suggestions?

At or near full lock? Possibly your power steering, and if so, I'm pretty sure that's normal.

I dunno, its only from one side, and the pump is on the RH side. I did find the LH steering rack boot torn and changed that, but it didnt make a difference to the sound. Its not normal as it hasn't always made the sound.
