oil consumption, out of ideas

confused, on my 94 corolla 1.8, i just changed my valve stem seals, added a catch can, and has 190 - 195psi compression all cyls, no oil leaks, still going through 1/2 a liter every 500km????

My only thoughts are the oil rings are frigged ? i really don't know about this POS engine any more, things pissing me off, any ideas or help would be of great assistance

Thanks....

Oil can go one of three places:

1. Into your combustion chamber (do you have blue smoke coming out of the exhaust)?

2. Leak out of the system (do you have any leaks?)

3. Into your coolant (have you checked the coolant?

Being that the compression looks good, (in fact it's a little high...), I would say that there's a leak somewhere.

What some people do is take a really large piece of cardboard and park your car on it overnight. In the morning check it out and see how it looks.

Hope that helps.

your oil wiper ring can be stuck letting the oil get by it and the other 2 rings can be ok, that will give you good compression and burning oil like mad
