12 volt Problem on 91 MR2

So I take a drive up to the store and my battery light comes on.
About 30 seconds later my tach drops to 0 but my car is still running.
I can turn the car on and off with no probelm but i now have a huge list of things that don't work.

Tach.
Power windows
Power locks
Turn Signals
Brake Lights
Heater Fan
Radio
Alarm
Cruise
Power Mirrors

Any ideas?????????
I'm lost!

I thought maybe the ignition switch, but the power locks are on a constant power lead, so kind of eliminated that. Checked over the main fuses. All looked OK. My next step is to bust out the meter, but figured I'd check with you guys first.

I figured it out!

The 2 main +12 cables going to the alt. came out of the O ring connector and grounded themselves, resulting in a blown 120a fuse under the hood.
