i have a 1993 toyota tercel and i need a list of the most common engine swaps please.i need some type of performance,i need a little bit of power all i have is this 1.5 5speed engine.I am new to toyota's i've been the honda guy for a while.i need help please

the easiest most common upgrade swap for your cel is a 5efe 1.5L for a first gen toyota paseo.

They are the same series of motor, and its a direct bolt up, tranny mounts everything.
Youll be gaining about 15hp and have much stronger more reliable engine.

You can put a 5EFHE engine which is of the toyota Cynos, or the JDM paseo. That also is direct bolt on, its only 10 more horses than the 5EFE. also there is that 4EFTE engine, off the starlet. I'm no pro on that engine, but its turboed, and i think its like 135hp.. (Tercel guys correct me if im wrong).

it would depend on how much mods you want to do. the motor that you have now is a 3a-c if im not mistaken. the problem with those are that the carbon builds up on the back valves and you tend to lose power. so i guess its all about how much you want to spend and much mods you want to do.

and, 5EFHE feels like it has more power than everyone thinks. I mean, Me personally, I think because it was EXTREMELY fast for me, felt faster than an integra. so I dunno, maybe some hidden power was released
