My Son`s 99 Solara has a trction control light on....what is the usual culprit for the light to come on?

Do you mean the "TRC Off" light or the TRC warning light?

TRC Off light just means someone has turned the TRC off... push the TRC button again and it will go back to normal.

The TRC light itself is supposed to come on when TRC is functioning... if one of your wheel speed sensors is broken it may stay stuck on all the time.

If the TRC system senses a problem the light should flash... you can pull the codes out of the TRC system much like you can with the ECU to find out what the problem is. (take to a dealer for this unless you can find a workshop manual covering TRC)

Thanks for the reply Toobs,
He said that the light is solid and not flashing. Pushing the button has no effect. So I guess it is a speed sensor or its connection.....thanks again
