Cool

Colder air is denser.
The net result from that is more air packs into the intake, and engine. The more air you ingest, the more fuel you can burn, the more power you have.

Honestly, again I say I never noticed any differance between any intake I ever had other than sound.

Most of the gains (If any) imho would be from a less restrictive intake.

The advantages are that you lose very little low end torque, gain some upper end torque and sounding cool at the same time. That, and it looks good and is relatively cheap. I've had so many intakes and they all made a slight diff over 3500rpm.

$100-$400 relatively cheap? I could have a RSB for that much and have noticeable difference

The only real difference from stock is looks, and sound. Otherwise, without more modifications, you won't ever see any of that at the wheels.

I notice the different after 3k rpm. Also after you hit 4rpm, you car will try to shift to the next gear, the rpm will go down to 3k then start going up again.(works like the header) Without CAI, the rpm will return to around 2k then start goes up. I think I lose quite amount of low end though.

it creates better flow for the engine thing is though if you upgrade one half of the engine you want to upgrade the other half as well doesn't do you any good to put more air and fuel into the chamber if you can't get it out just the same.

well, does brand ever make a difference? i would assume the cheapo eBay ones are not as good as for instance AEM or dragon weapon intakes. true or not true?

I think the fitting is a little different. Injen has the perfect fitting for those nipple while the other on ebay has alittle problem specally with the temp sensor. (correct me if i'm wrong)

I had an intake on my Solara. Off of Ebay for like $30 at the time.

I got a 4-Cly. Soounds cool, but no noticable gain in HP. Plus, i notice it makes my RPM needle "shake" at idle. No joke, so I took it off...

I don't REALLY notice the gains...and I am using an akimoto with extension...though it DID give me a nice litle spot to drill for the N20 nozzles...

Owning one and knowning how they work are two factors that can be entirely unrelated. So I'd like to know where your going with this...
