Logical Reasoning on Toyota Engine Swaps... Your Thoughts?

Okay, here are a couple things that we know. The 3SGTE in the MR2 Turbo uses the E153 tranny, which is also used by the Camry (Solara) V6 (1MZFE). The 3SGTE also bolts up to the 5-speed in the I4 Camry (5SFE) and of course the Celica (5SFE or 3SGE). So would it be correct to assume then that, for example, you could take ANY MZ series engine, and bolt it to the 5-speed tranny found in an I4 Camry or Celica GT? (I don't need argument about the longevity of the tranny, the question is, WILL IT BOLT UP?).

And what about the 3VZFE in the earlier V6 Camrys? Can they also use the E153?

3VZFE can use E153, as does the 2VZFE, which i'm swapping in now.

Cool

Yes they all will swap. Most of the fwd trans. will swap out with each other.
The shift linkage on the Celica / MR2 is on the wrong side of the tranmission, and have slightly different gearing.

Search the Camry forum for E153 swap. There have been two complete guides written on swapping them that cover everything in detail, and the minor differances.
