4A-FE / 4A-GE into a 1986 Celica???

I have a banged up 1991 Corolla, but the engine is in perfect running condition.

Recently I saw an ad in my area for a 1986 Celica for under $100 with a bad motor.

Will the Corolla's 4A-FE or GE (not sure which it is) fit into the '86 Celica? Are the transmissions the same or different?

Has anyone ever tried this before?

Thank you,
Russell D.

^Doesn't matter. 86 use 3S series. You'll need to change engine mount.

neither one of those engines would be very much fun in that heavy ass celica. the 3SFE that is most 4th gens has a hard enough time pullin that car around, i cant imagine what a 4AFE would be like, 4AGE would just be anoying.
