hey guys. i just got a ct26 to rebuild....and as i unpackaged this thing i noticed the compressor was quite different. the compressor blades you can see in the intake look like the edges were clipped. they are probably an 1/8 inch from the compressor housing. so, my question is this some kind of performance thing? it was blown, but it didnt have enough travel to have a compressor rub. it looks waaaay to even for it to have been something random. someone spent some time blending the edges (i inspect compressor blades on c-130s like every day) im not sure what it came off of. i know its a twin entry ct26.

any thoughts? was the compressor clipped? what will that do for the turbo?

right now i put the new wheel on. i still got to clean up the compressor housing. i love rebuilding these things. its fun to see what failed on the turbo. on this one, it looks like someone overspead the shit out of it. the thrust bearing was wasted to the point that the bottom of the turbine wheel was rubbing. but anyway, the second wheel is the one that came on it "stock" it never rubbed on the compressor housing. the housing is perfect. and from the pics you can tell that the blades on the one in question are sharp. you could almost cut yourself on it.

help me guys. is this thing good or is it trash? gains, negatives...let me know what you think!

id say the look fucked... wouldnt it be harder to spooler her up if hte blades are like that?
