The flashing light means that something is wrong in the cruise control system.

What year is your car?

You'll have to figure out what part is defective... Don't just start replacing parts, it'll get really expensive. Good luck.

So now i have to take it to the dealer and tell them to fix it if i want to use it. Im sure that they will rip my ass off big time for labor and parts. screw that, i think ill fix it by my self later then.

Mine does that every once in a while especially if going up an overpass. I just turn it off momentarilly and turn it back on before I get to the bottom of the "hill." It hasn't done it anytime I have brought it to my mechanic so I have just learned to live with it so far. I think that you need to be going over 30 mph to use it. Good luck

Check the simple things at least... make sure all the plugs are connected that are related to the cruise control, etc. I once found out my cruise control was unplugged after a service at a local mechanic's shop... I didn't go back there after that.
