If it seat for 9 years, chance is that the oil dry up can plugged the hole and bearing didn't get oil. Could also be rust. Check the shaft. probably the shaft got scratch too.

Sitting for 9 years the engine should have been rebuilt with at the least new bearings and seals. Sitting that long with any amount of oil in it other than machine is not a good idea. You should check the other bearings as well while you are at it and replace them all if you can afford it. I would also make certain that the oil galleys are not plugged.

Odds are the motor was pulled from the donor vehicle because of the damage you found but one can never tell.

those bearings didnt wind up like that over a couple seconds, that is liquid metal transfer, they almost welded themselves to the crank, most likely over storage the oil in the pump drained out and the pump lost its prime, you better check the entire motor even the cam journals in the head

in the future

If an engine has been setting for 6 months or more without starting, it is a good practice to remove spark plugs, spray a rust release (WD40, Liquid Wrench, etc.) in the bores and let the engine sit overnight. Next day, crank the engine with the spark plugs out. This will help prevent breaking a ring that may have seized to the bore and will put oil back in all the bearings without them being loaded.

If the engine has been sitting for several years, drain the oil first. Moisture condensate will be at the bottom of the pan and you do not want to pick it up with the oil pump and mix it with the oil.

Like fredk said, these bearings are only part of the problem. The crankshaft is damaged too.

Looks like whoever put it together didn't lube the bearing properly when putting it together. That lube doesn't dry out, so 9 years shouldn't have done that.
