Unhappy Major Proplems

I have a 98 Toyota tacoma, its got over 300,000 miles on it. it never missed a beat until now. it started runing real sluggish, like it was pulling a trailer and now it won't even start. All it does is turn over. I checked the oil and its good no water or gas in it. Every thing is stock but I don't really know much about mechanics thought. dad checked it and he thinks it may be something electronic. I was trying not to have to take it to the dealership, working with a low budget and its not critial to get it running(its my play toy). If anyone has any sugguestions it would be very heplful

ignition check

Remove a spark plug, reconnect the plug wire, hold metal side of plug against engine, and have someone crank engine. Look for bright spark. If there is none, check the resistance of the ignition coil.

Pull an injector and disconnect the spark plug wires. Crank the motor and see if fuel squirts out. It sounds to me like a fuel system related problem, from the way you described sluggish operation and then it not starting. Perhaps a clogged fuel filter? Bad fuel pump?
