i have a 3rd generation 3sge making about 165-175 BHP from factory and i feel the need to make a little more power maybe like 210-215 to the ground......................i was wondering if i bolt a supercharger onto the high compression setup if that would make the diff..help needed.......

i have the same engine why not, intake exhaust camshafts and a ported head youd problaby need a stand alone fuelmanagement (it is only expensive ) .
I have searched for a long time and i did not come across for a supercharger for this engine by the big manufactuters like hks, jun, toda, trd, only a turbo kit but, where i live they said that its not advisable, that you can beter get get a 3s-gte if you want a turbo.

ecu, cams, headwork, exhaust should get you to the 210whp mark. 3rd gen has the quad throttle bodies right?

No it doesn't have the throttle bodies.........but according to the plan when i'm done building the engine it would have the 4 individual throttle boddies from the 4ag 20 valve setup. believe me it would be cheaper for me to supercharge it than to build it N/A..............

but if your gonna supercharge it, you still need an exhaust and a stand alone computer, if you're going for itb's from a 4ag 20v, then the only thing more for a n/a setup are camshafts and a ported head and if youre gonna go for itb's a ported head and qamshafts are a plus to get all out of the itb's,( because of what i read, they said that itb's on a standard head doésn't make all that difference but on a modfied head it does).

Thumbs up

sounds great i don't about the size of injectors though (i haven't finished my book 4 stroke performance tuning by graham bell )

cams are indeed $$
i want cams too but i wanna see dyno's first of the different cams so you can deside for which cam you are gonna go, not much luck yet though

i spoke to a known tuner in holland how much gain you could have from a ported head and he said on a 3s-ge (175hp) from 15 until 30 hp.

do cames and head work at ONCE. you want cam profiles to suit your headwork (i fyou cange valve angles)

cams are actually cheaper, the 3sge is a common engine, readily available with custom duration/lift profiles form many shops.

yes a supercharger will get you the HP you want cheaper, but its just so much more fun to work a n/a motor... then you can supercharge it after

Overhere the 3s-ge (175pk)is a rare engine. The black top version of i believe 210hp was never sold here.

if you buy here JUN cams and valvetrain kit and adjustabele camppulleys you pay 1565,00 euro thats 2012,75 USD and 2674,75 autralian dollar

I think the prices from toda and hks are simular

a headwork with inbedded valves (don't know how to write it) costs 675,00 euro thats 868,12 USD, 1153,65 autralian dollar, fairly cheap (for n/a) if you could expect gains from 15hp until 30hp

a custem (or he orders it somewhere else) cams and valve train kit costs 1000,00 euro thats 1286,10 USD, 1709,11 autralian dollar

you problaby don's have a dyno sheat with specs of a modified 3s-ge with cams or other upgrades

a 4th gen (beams) with all TRD parts pulls 270hp, with plenty of room for improvement (as the trd kit is still very streetable)

find a place thatll do cam regrinds, get them to do it in the same profile as aftermarket ones -- A LOT cheaper (About 5 times less then the prices ya quoted)

what car do you have exactly?

I also wanno go for itb, cams, headwork and a autronic or dta stand alone, but first $$$

so bacickly the best of both wordls a 3s-ge with trottlebodies and supercharger sounds not bad would be a beast , what is the expected date that this project will finish (i mean in one year, or two) and what are the expected gains, and do you forsee any problems that you might/would have to tacle, or will you see wen you go along.
Where i live you would have an exclusive i have never seen ore heard about a 3s-ge supercharged.
