Question Drawbacks to Intercoolers with >100% thermal efficency

Im in the prosses of building the duct work for my new intercooler. Due to the way the IC is mounted I could easily build a portion of the duct to feed dry ice onto the intecooler fins. The IC is mounted horizontally so the dry ice would work VERY well. I would only use this at the drag strip for short periods of time.

What, if any are the dangers of supercooling the air running through an intercooler? IE getting the intake charge colder than ambiant temps.

just use ice, not dry ice, and do it b4 line up, as they dont like water down the dragstrip.

go water injection.

edit: GOD DAMN NICE RIDE

Not many, as long as you've tuned for that air density. If you have fuel tuning heading to the ragged edge without it, the additional air will make you go lean enough to go boom...not in a good way either.

If you tune for that dry ice setup, you will just run a little rich when you are on the streets...no different really than the air/water intercooler guys dumping ice in the reserviors to chill it below ambient.

Well, the computer will compensate for the dense air because the MAS is after the intercooler. So, my only real problem is calculating the fuel ill need since im at 85% DS around 7 psi.

Time to install the bigger injectors and retune.

Thanks for the help guys.
