Can any experts (esp. the ones who've driven both) suggest the difference between these two tracks? :x
Fabi seems to be a brake killer but it has longer straight lines.
fabi is long, wide and the turns are not as tight as nelson.
nelson is short, narrower and i BELIEVE that it has more turns. IMO nelson is better, but it's much harder on ur brakes and tires.
Hey guys, im kinda scared now. Im gonna be at the track on the 13th but im scared of running the car into something. Like a wall or whatever. Can someone put my mind at ease? What turns should i watch out for?
only on the last turn(hairpin) is there a wall along side of it. that's the only one to worry about. although nothing really should happen. other than that, the worst thing that can happen is blowing ur engine
naw if anyone did, i'd think it would be quite fatal.
it's a concrete wall and one of the faster lines for that turn u could take is to line urself up initially right infront of the wall. so say uhhh ur ball joins fail for some stupid reason...hello wall
TorontoBud... well.. last time i went was my first time
i suck like shit... but let me tell u this.... unless u intended to.. otherwise i don't think u'll hit the wall or hit other cars...
ask the exp guys to take u for a ride~
don't worry too much~ personally.. i think it's pretty safe..
if anything, just slow down to a speed thats comfortable to go around that corner, who cares if you're not doing it fast, it's not a race anyways.
just take ur time and have fun...
it ain't hard to miss that wall tho, i mean, just don't fly into it and expect to turn on a dime like gran turismo
Thanks guys, that certainly eased my mind. The guys on the 240 mailing list will be glad to hear that too. But we have another question if you don't mind the OT. What are some of the necessities needed? So far i have jerry can, bottles of water, coolant, and some engine oil on my list. Anything im missing? Thanks
2x 25L gas cans (with gas)
2x spare tires (not donuts, just another set)
brake fluid
coolant
oil
water
drinks for yourself too
electrical tape
duct tape
etc.
tire iron
jack
helmet - although we seem not to use it.. but just in case we feel like it =D
nick and i usually show up with almost everything, including a timing light and hex keys and all sorts of stuff, so if you need something you forgot at the track just come by... i'll help you out with whatever...
and to anyone that says they don't work on their own cars, pshhhhhhh...
they bring the entire shop in their trunk.
btw the fabi track outline on their is incorrect. it actually differs from the pic quite a bit (the second right hand turn after the 1/4 mile should pin out to decreasing radius right turn, and there is an absense of the double apex left, its been a while since i ran fabi, but i know for sure those 2 are missing)
i know it is from their site, but it is incorrect. and confirmed with watching video taped runs.
