96 camry security: pizeo chirp not working

I have a 96 camry. The keyless entry/security system gives the option to enable/disable the chirp sound. The mannual calls it pizeo defeat OFF/ON. I set it so that the chirp is turned on.

Now, the chirp sometimes works and some time it doesn't. I don't know what makes it work and what doesn't. I have followed the procedure many times to turn the Pizeo Defeat mode to OFF (chirp ON) but I can't get the chirp to come on every time I lock/unlock. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Any help is appreciated

Besides that fact the the "Chirp" is unpredictable, does it lock and unlock properly regardless of the chirp? This might sound stupid, but is the battery on the remote weak?

1. Well I put a brand new battery in the remote.
2. Sometimes I notice that when I lock the car by pressing the remote button, It flashes the ligths twice which means it just unlocked the already unlocked car. But that happens only some times.

The car chirped or beeped this morning when I unlocked the car and took it to work and it chirped twice when I locked the car at work. I noticed that the noise was coming from under the hood. Is that true? I didn't think they would put a siren or a small speaker under the hood just for the chirp sound. Since its a factory alarm, it uses the horn for all the sirens.

What do you say?

Ive actually noticed that when disarming i get two different beeps. instead of beep beep, some times its beep bop. this seems to be completly random.
