transmission upgrades for towing

Does anyone know what I would need in parts or whats the routine to beef up my automatic trans due to added horsepower for towing?? Its a 98 t100 5VZ-FE that want to go on steroids.

How much added HP? Toyota builds things pretty tough. You would have to really abuse that tranny to break it. I've got a 97 taco with the 5vz, and I have thrashed it to no end without breakage. I would put a tranny cooler on it if you don't have one already. Get a good one that comes with an electric cooling fan.

Agreed, an extra tranny cooler at the bare minimum. Heat kills. Easily.
