elec water pump, elec fan alternator?

hey TN'ers i have a question i would just like to confirm thats all, i have a pickup V6 3VZE engine.

ok im planning to take off my stock fan and put a cheap $5 electric fan from scrap yard i was told to put a relay so fan dont get to hot and break so relay would would shut it off is that correct? and where would i get a realy and what type?

next im putting a motor to run my water pump since there is no electric waterpump for the pickup i found the motor online and gonna add a pully to it and hook it up, i was told to run it at max rpm all the time since i dont have an adjuster, but wouldent that over heat the motor? and also i rearly ever cross 3000 rpm. so should i get an adjuster or leave it at a set speed?

then reason for these 2 swaps is to get more power and MPG, and gonna cost me less than 200 canadian

also since these are gonna be pulling more power from the altenator which in turn gonna lessen my MPG which is a more powerful alt. option i can run?

thanks

http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=275%2D226 you can get something like this but ask them for something a little big higher in A rating i don't think 30A is going to handle a fan.. check with the fan i guess..but i would feel better with 60A and you can always wire it up with a lower fuse to the fan since fuses are cheaper to replace than a relay... then just get some wires to wire up the fan don't use some cheap 16guage wires either...and a switch and you should be set... or you can tap into your water temp sensor and make that turn on the fan when it hits a certain temp.. but that's gonna require some research but it can be done fairly easy if u know where the wires are..... i don't know about the other problem though

I am not sure why you would want to run an electric water pump. the water pump is run by the timing belt, so if you remove the mechanical pump you are going to have to get a different timing belt that will fit without that pulley in the picture. Then you are going to have to fobricate some type of plate to block off the openings for the pump on the front of the block. SO now your 200 dollar fix is going to get more expensive by the time you have something custom made to block off the pump na dreplace the timing belt with one that will fit without the pump pulley in there.

after reading some more. Are you wanting to use an electric motor to run your water pump? If so are you wanting to do this because you are removing the fan? If so there is no need for it as I have stated above.

As for controlling the fan. It would be ideal to install some kind of temp sensor that will control the relay for the fan. It would need to supply a signal to the relay to open or close depending on the typoe of relay it is and supply power to the fan motor. You will need to get a sensor that is going to supply this signal at whtever temp you want it to. Ideally I would think you would want it to turn on when the thermostat opens. If you could find another Toyota vehicle that uses an electric fan you could probably use the temp sensor from that and then wire it in.
