More thoughts! Hmmm........(Finally Got The Links Up!!)

So i was talking with my brother on the phone today. I was thinking of this the other day while i was washing my car. He says, did Toyota ever make a black Cressida? I said, hmm..... i dont think so, ive never seen one. But i had thought of getting mine painted black. So im thinking sometime in the future im goin to get my car painted black, a nice deep rich black. Everything will be black, the door sills will be repainted, the engine bay parts that are painted now. Ill do a lil body like shaving the rear emblems. I dont wanna make it into some type of show car or anything, but im not sure wether to keep or just shave the holes for the body molding, not the ridges for the body molding, just the holes. Im goin to go talk to my body shop sometime this week to get an estimate and look at a choice of colors. Whats a good number of coats of paint and clear coat? Man i think that a black cressida with black hoshino's and a polished lip would look so pimp! What do you guys think? I was also thinking, since its goin to be a while till i get my motor i might go ahead and do the tranny swap sometime soon now so i can atleast get rid of the slushomatic. Im not totally sure but ill probably go this way, so when i get the 7mgte all i have to is drop it right in and wire it up. Im goin to talk to a few shops around here about replacing my front main seal too, its leaking really bad! : Once all this is done and the motor is in i couldnt even imagine what the retail value on my car would be. Not that im thinking of selling it any time soon, but im sure im not going to keep it forever. hm......interesting, very interesting. So what do you guys think? Im expecting flames too, so dont hold back.

ya, im goin to drop the 7MGTE in. With that, and it painted black, my drop, and my rims it will look so bad ass. I think that atleast.

black is a nice color...for a STOCK car...

if you're going to get a body kit or something, get a dark gray...otherwise you cant see the kit if it's PITCH BLACK...

but it would look cool for the interior...

im not getting a kit though. Im keeping the car looking clean, i might go ahead and build a nice subtle lip but thats it.

hey can u explain about the engine situation to me a little better? What kind of engine came in the ??-88 Cressida? How much does that little twin turbo cost? where does it come from? All this information for the trade of this itty bitty pic.

The engine from the 85-88(i think it started in 85) was the 5MGE, same motor as the MK2 supras. Im droping in the 7MGTE the engine from the MK3 supra turbos. The twin turbo is the 2jzgte or the 1jzgte that your thinking of. Both will fit, but i dont have the money for the engines. Im not sure which tt ur talking about, and even then i cant give you an exact cost of it. Im getting a front clip from a JDM MK3 supra. Im not totally sure of the cost yet, but i need to get my rims and my starter fixed before i get into that. Where did you get that pic? Do you own a cress?

No i dont own a Cressida and http://mkiv.virtual.net.nz/articles/hpi12_1.htm heres an article on the engine swaps, Thats from a Supra site so what i think is that They mean that the IJZ is a replacement for the 7m-GTE engine.

Too bad I dont know which car they come in and like most of the time couldnt afford any of this.

Theres something more to read, but im seeing that the 7M-GTE can hold like 400hp, so run that biotch.

And the 5M-GE? the size is 2.8? How much hp can it hold? DOHC? Any models come turbo?

How much does an 87 Cress weigh? and does it have Indep. rear susp.?

how come theres like no info on this thing anywhere, but i bet somebody could tell me the diameter of the knob for the heating control in a civic.
