How good is KLASSE?

Several posters here have mentioned Klasse wax products. How good is it really, and for what applications?

Good stuff. But it's not like your normal wax.

From my exterior detailing thread:
"Klasse All-In-One is a one-step product that gently cleans and polishes your paint as it protects with the patented Klasse acrylic formula. A single coat of Klasse All-In-One provides 4-6 months of protection. For even more protection and paint finish beauty, you can add one or more coats of Klasse Sealant Glaze, which does not contain cleaners or polish. Klasse Sealant Glaze is pure acrylic resin."

It was originally used for applications on exotic boats and planes because of it's durability. But in the last few years it has been very popular among car detailing connoisseurs. Just visit a car detailing forum and you will see Klasse mentioned all over the place.

It is a thin semi-clear liquid. It goes on best with a foam applicator. Apply it thin or it can be hard to remove. If it becomes hard to remove, just give it a spritz of 'quick detailer' or water, and then buff it off.

Hey pb Im going to get a PC7424 this spring. Can I apply the Klasse with it or should I do it by hand? What should you use to remove it?

Both applying and removing can be done by hand or machine.

I just use my buffer because it leaves a more uniform look, which can be hard to get on dark colored paint like mine.

A buffer is not really needed for waxing, but it's nice to have, unless you are trying to beef up your arm muscles.

A buffer's main advantage is for polishing, fixing sctatches, and other paint damage.

It seems weird for most people to do this, but if you are applying wax by hand, don't apply it in circles like we've all been taught. When doing it by hand, it's best to apply wax front to back, like you are making racing stripes. Overlap each pass. Applying the wax in one direction will result in a uniform look and no swirls. Ever see a freshly detailed car that has swirls in it when the sun is shining on it just right? They didn't apply the wax correctly, or they got too agressive with their buffer.

When you get a PC, be sure to get a few bonnets if you want to use the buffer for removing wax and polish. Some guys will only use the buffer for application, and then remove it by hand. But if you want to do it all with the buffer then get a couple of these, and fit them over top of any soft 6" pad.

I like to add a little mist of detailing spray and then buff it off for the final step. It makes the paint really glow. I use these bonnets for that step.

This is how good Klasse is. This is just the single layer of Klasse AIO. No glaze yet or wax at all. Can't wait. PB--I got to give props--thanks again!

If you are not an Autopia member, you can join (free), and then I think they give you a code for a 10% discount off of your first order.

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-daspol-kit.html
or
http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-sfxpol-kit.html (this kit has a little better pads)
Both of those buffer kits include SFX-2 for free, which is a great polish for fixing normal swirls and damage. And also included free is Sonus Paintwork cleanser. Buffers should be shipping by March 23rd.

Then if you have the $ you might want to add:

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-sfxscr-kit.html Great for removing scratches and other paint damage

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-dasbon6-2.html Bonnets

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/mf-cfb6-2.html final Buffing bonnets

Some Klasse and P21S wax would be a nice addition too.

If Autopia isn't giving that 10% dicsount, then it would be better to check out this. http://www.autogeek.net/hk7424.html Plus this one comes with Lake Country brand pads, which are great.

Klasse is GREAT stuff, its what I use on my S. The thing that impressed me the most was how easy it is to get bugs off. Haven't put it on the Taco yet, dread it cause its alot bigger than the S

Just a quick update on the Klasse, if anyone is interested. Layed down a single layer of Klasse glaze with the Porter Cable 7424 (much better shine than by hand, much better)

You can see the new Lincoln pretty good

Hood shot ---shine is pretty deep

Klasse is magical.

This is my 1993 Civic. I had never applied a coat of wax or polish on it ever! This is what 1 coat of lazily applied Klasse AIO did. I was shocked.
