Pin Stripe Removal

I have decided to debadge my truck. I am also considering removing the pin striping on my truck. Has anyone done this before? How easy is it? My truck is 2 months old so I don't think fading would be an issue. Thanks.

You can see some of the pin stripe in this pic:

Also debating whether to downgrade the 20" wheels to 18's or 17's...but that's another topic.

yeah, I don't really care for pinstripes on Tacomas. Just heat it up and peel it off. Start and the front and it should peel off all the way down, if you pull evenly.

When I went to pick up my '06 at the dealer it had pinstripes on it. I asked them to remove them and waited while they did it.

You shouldn't have any problems with fading. You could use a heat gun on the lowest setting, or use a hairdryer and they should come right off.

I pulled mine off without heating it up and it came off just fine. Look at my car domain pics and you can kind of see what yours will look like since it's the same color.

Thanks guys for the advice. I'll add this to my list tomorrow. The truck will look cleaner without the stripes and badges. (easier to detail as well)

Now, I just have to find a reputable tinting place.

Removed the pin striping and side badges today. I used the heat from a blow dryer to remove the pin stripes and the badges. I left the badges on the tail gate for now. Much cleaner now! I really love how it looks now.
