Touch up paint

10 yr old camry (1997) with a few little scratched in the paint. Wheres the best place to get touch up paint, and would I just use a brush on it?

The Toyota parts dept. will sometimes give you touch up paint for free. Mine did. Just have your VIN# ready. It has the paint code in it.

I use a sharp toothpick to apply the paint into the chip or scratch. Once the paint touches the surface it will draw itself from the toothpick down into the chip or scratch. Let it cure for a good day or two before doing any washing, polishing or waxing.

here's some good info on fixing a scratch. http://www.guidetodetailing.com/arti...p?articleId=27

I only had a couple chips on my hood, but here's how I fixed 'em. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/832238/10

Be careful wetsanding the paint on the grill. For some reason it seems to be a little softer than the paint on the hood. It's easier to "over-sand". Keep it well lubed and check your work after a couple passes with the sand paper.

Would the newer paint "dots" really stand out against the 10 yr old paint?

Not if you wet sanded and polished them.
