Black Stuff

I drive my car a lot back and forth everywhere... every 2 weeks I get this black substance around my front wheels of my car and I think its coming from the brakes or something. There is nothing wrong with my brakes but it keeps coming up and I keep DIY washing instead of going to a carwash (because its a half-wash job). Is there anything that I can use to keep that substance away from the front wheels?

try appying a thin coat of wax to your rims....helps keep dirt/brake dust from accumulating...

Yeah, wax helps. Around your wheels and wheel wells apply the wax by hand. I have found that applying and removing certain kinds of wax with a buffer can cause a static charge for a few days, which will attract dust, especially around the wheels.

You might also want to have your brakes checked. Do you do a lot of stop and go driving?

Maybe once they're broke in better they'll stop making so much dust.

Brake dust is basically little pieces of metal, so be careful when you're wiping or washing it off.

Could it be Armor-All or some sort of Tire dressing being put on too thick?
