Canada Paint Protection from Swirl Marks

I have a black 06 Taco ordered. How can I prevent 'swirl' marks from happening to the paint? My current car is a testament to how much black vehicles show up everything. Would a sealer/glaze followed by a few coats of wax as soon as it arrives all applied with brand new unused cloths aid in preventing this?

An acrylic wax will help. But the main way to prevent it is to adopt good washing and drying techniques. Good car wash shampoo, mitts and towels. Don't let other people wash or dry your car. No Auto car washes.

Read through the tutorials in the Detailing forum.

Also, proper protection as PB mentions. The less maintenance needed, the better off you'll be. Frequent app's of acrylic/Polymer protection (8 week intervals) is your best preventive maintenance....

No. To my knowledge Mother's doesn't make anything acrylic.

A good one to try is Klasse. PoorBoys EX-P is good too.

Check through some of the threads for more info on these products.

Thanks Pb2.
I have most of the Mother's stuff that I use on my Elm Green 71 Bug. I find it works like a charm on the car. The paint on that is acrylic enamal.
I want to give the truck the best protection possible as it will be used in the woods and will get scratched and possibly dinged. Some roads I took the old S10 down were no more than walking traills. Got some good fish though.
I will definitly look for the Klasse stuff. I can't recall ever seeing it before.

Mother's is good stuff. You might want to use it as a "topper" though. What type of wax isi it. Mother's High tech Yellow #26 is great stuff to use as a topper. Apply the Klasse as a nice solid base coat, then let it cure for 24 hours. During this 24 hours it will harden and become more durable, then you could apply some Mother's carnauba on top of the Klasse for some extra shine and depth. You can layer multiple products for a crazy shine and depth.

I have put as many as 6 layers of acrylic and wax on my truck, but it took 5 days.

Thanks. I'll search out some Klasse the weekend.

When I take my VW out of storage I wash it then dry it. I then do the Mother's 3 Step Process (Pre-Wax, Sealer/Glaze, Paste Wax). I then follow it up with 2 coats of liquid and its good for the summer. Granted it is in the garage most of the time. I Clay it about halfway throgh the summer and then apply another liquid wax.

Which Klasse polish is the better one to go with?

Klasse All-In-One
Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze

What would be the ultimate order to use in conjunction with the Mother's process?

The AIO goes down first, and looks good all by itself, but if you want some more gloss, add the SG on top of the AIO after 24 hours. The SG works kinda like putty. It fills in any defects in the paint and makes it super smooth.

If you really wanted to go all out you would do it in this order:

Wash
Claybar
AIO
SG
Carnauba

But if you don't want to spend that much time then you can leave out the SG or Carnauba and it will still look awesome.

I will go all out. I think I may do the same with my 71 as well.
Cheers
b.

Look for many pics as soon as Taco arrives.

EDIT: Mothers or Klasse sealer/glaze or are both on par with each other? I already have a bottle and a half of the Mothers

You have Mother's Sealant Glaze? If so, then that would work on top of the AIO. There's no real need for you to buy the Klasse SG. Just buy the AIO.

If you happen to go by a Harley Davidson shop stop in and pick up some S100 paste wax to use as an awesome carnauba topper. S100 is the same as P21S, just a different label.
