money on the side?

I'm really interested in buying a PC buffer to clean my car and get rid of some of the scratches and swirling. But for a complete kit it runs around $200 as you already know.

So i was wondering if anyone who has a buffer tried to make some money on the side by offering to 'fix' scratches for friends and friends of friends ect... Like charging $20 a scratch or something. Or if anyone offers to do a total wash, polish, wax kind of thing for some extra money as well.
Could that make the buffer pay for itself?

Sure. You could do a couple detail jobs and pay for the whole thing. I do detail jobs on the side.
