Tacoma glove compartment

06 Tacoma
What is the exterior of the glove compartment and the arm rest of the center console made of? There is a bit of, I think, dirty grease rubbed on it and i need to clean it off. The material seems soft and a bit porous unlike hard plastic but I don't think it's vinyl. I don't want to fade that plastic or whatever it is made of. What should I use?

Tried water and MF towel, didn't come off.

Any kind of leather cleaner from a local car parts store should work fine. I use Griots interior cleaner. A diluted mix of 303 cleaner works too. You can also try a 20:1 to a 10:1 mix of water and Woolite in a spray bottle. Spray the cleaner on the towel first and then wipe on the surface. Don't spray on the surface first.
