That's gotta be repainted for sure. The body shop should be able to sand and putty it, then repaint.
BTW, no more drinking and driving.

Ha! Not looking to invite the DUI myself, this damage was done by the previous owner about 1 hour before he was going to sell me the car. Took $2500 off the price to pay for the paint, two new tires and rims, and whatever other problems might come up. Went from $5900 to $3400 which seems like a screaming deal for a '99 w/80,000.

Any idea what the repaint might cost?

Unless there's some cracks or unseen damage to the bumper support then I would say less than $500. $3400 seems like a great deal to me.

is the bumper the only thing scraped up? I had a bumper replaced once, the cost for painting and installation was $280. It was all under the table though, if that makes a difference.

For an older Camry you should be able to get the bumper redone for well under $500. Go to a reputable body shop and pay them cash, you get a better deal.

The other thing is to go to Toyota, pay full retail for the bumper and then get it painted.

Or you can go on Ebay and get a OEM look alike bumper that comes in flat black primer, but the body shop I know of and have been to will not touch anything that is not REAL OEM or Fiberglass because Urethane can flex too much and bend and never fits quite right, plus they don't hold paint very well.

If you go the new bumper route, make sure its glass and not urethane.
