Water Spot Removal

I have some bad hard water spots on my truck. Wondering if the claybar will take them off or what would be the best way to get rid of them......Thanks

I used the search button and answered my own questions.....

Read through the detailing sticky. I'm pretty sure we've discussed this a few times in other threads too.

I doubt clay will remove all the water spots. You might need a light polish job. If you don't have any polish, try a paint cleanser or cleaner/wax.

Any luck with what you found...which I assume was the magic (vinegar) acid bath?

I had some spots on my hood that I could only see at an angle but were still eating at me. Tried vinegar, clay bar, meguiar's paint cleaner, light polish and ScratchX (all by hand, no buffer) to no avail. Luckily, my silver paint hides them pretty good.

So...?

The minerals in the water spot might have etched into your paint. You would need a buffer and polish to fix that.

I had serious water spots on the body and glass of my avalon when I bought it 2nd hand. Buffing with a cut and polish paste (polyglaze) removed it quite quick. I just discovered that a pure cutting paste would remove the spots from the windows as well.
