I threw mine away after a few uses. It kind of works, but not as good as they advertise. The water filter doesn't last long, and is expensive to replace. The AutoDry soap has alcohol in it, which strips off your wax job. It's better to just do a real car wash.
Just get a good sheepskin wash mitt, some NXT car wash soap, a couple buckets, and some Waffle Weave MF drying towels. You'll get a lot better results than the AutoDry.
i have another question, the spray detailer, is it like a short term wax? does it protect? when you dry the car is it ok to shit up the chammy? mines gets a lil dirty when i dry it.
Don't count on a spray wax for your main source of protection. They are weak when it come to protecting the paint. I just use it to clean off a little dust, add some shine, and rejuvinate my wax job.
If the chamois gets dirty when you dry off the car then that means that you are not getting the car clean enough when you wash it. What is your washing method and equipment?
1.i put on bug remover on nasty spots (tarminator)
2. rinse car with hose
3.i put armor all wash in a bucket with water. wipe down car with microfiber stringy thingy
4. rinse with hose
5. dry with chammy
6. spray detailor and wipe with micro fiber towel (black magic detailor but now i bought meguirs) which one is the better detailor?
if i were to use clay which step would i do it in? i could spray detail then wax?
I would get a sheepskin mitt. Microfiber is good for drying, but not washing. It holds onto dirt too well. You want to be able to rinse out the dirt in between washing body panels. Start from the top of the car and work down. Rinse the mitt often. Do the wheels with a separate mitt. Brake dust scratches paint.
Loose the chamois and get a couple MF waffle weave drying towels.
You would clay after you have washed and dried the car thoroughly. Then you can proceed to polish, then wax.
i washed and waxed with the cleaner wax. its nice and shiny and protected. i also got a duster, for when shit gets on between washings. i just leave the quik detailer for when i want to pimp.
autodry sucks ass. i washed the car as per directions, ... just wet the car and didnt do anything to the dust .. just piled on, didnt notice a difference at all

Using the simple bucket wash method should be fine. If your worried about scratching paint with your drying clothes, you can use a California Water Blade. But if you get a high quality microfiber towel for drying, or even a waffle-weave one, chances of micromarring isn't that high.
